NP for a 63 I think. Not entirely sure on how the Beetle market is right now though.

While I wouldn’t pay that much, I know a lot of people would. The sun roof is a pretty rare accessory and desirable.
This on the other hand is full on crackpipe:

That’s a pretty good price. Similar age Beetles in good shape can certainly be more than that.

They are so barbaric, so I’d never have one, but I tend to agree with you.

They are fun in their own right, although a lot of that fun stemmed from the fact that they were cheap, common, but weird. As prices go up I think it kills most of the appeal. The prices for microbuses have gone insane, and so far as I can see, have completely destroyed the culture around them that used to make them so fun.

I’m with Berang.
Plus, I’m sure there are some mechanics at Volkswagen service spots that don’t mind seeing a old school Beetle from time to time to work on or change the wiper blades every so often.

And, despite my very diminished mechanic’s skills, I could work on it. It’s dumb technology. And, ever seen this?

Crazy Auto Union must have been spreading their wacky ideas back then. I’m sure that process is in one of their old unofficial manuals. :P
